The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

Zion and Jerusalem, January 11, 2013

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, simply stated, is Jesus Christ.

This is very good news. In him we find everlasting life for in him is the gospel of everlasting salvation. Or in other words, the truth is the knowledge of all things; or the things as they are, as they were and as they are to come. And who is omniscient as our GOD who knows all things past, present and future?

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light; they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

(Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 19:2)

Thus far in the two previous manuscripts, I Have given you testimony of the truth as it was and the truth as it is as much as my ability permits me because of my infirmities and weaknesses.

I have tried to convey in your souls rather than in your minds the knowledge of God as it was, or who is the Great Spirit knows as Jehovah. He is the deity who conversed with the ancient patriarchs from Adam to Moses and from Moses until he took flesh as Jesus Christ. That Jehovah, or the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who is also know as Israel in the old testament of the Bible; and who made great covenants with them and their posterity forever more. And all the prophets from the beginning until John have spoken of greatness of the great spirit known as Jehovah and what he as done for the children of Israel and their fathers all the way back to Adam.

And I think I have also explained with the scriptures at hand, that Jehovah is Jesus Christ or the son of the living GOD as recorded in the new testament of the Bible. And these last records bear witness of the birth, life, ministry, and betrayal, crucifixion and resurrection of the savior and the redeemer of the world. And that that this knowledge in all it purity comprises the good news or the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation. And all these things as registered in the records of the Jews and of the twelve original apostles of Jesus Christ proceed in their purity unto the gentiles according to the truth which is in GOD.

Wherefore, these things go forth from the Jews in purity unto the Gentiles, according to the truth which is in God.

(Book of Mormon | 1 Nephi 13:25)

Furthermore, I believe I have extensively quoted from the book of Mormon to establish the truth of the first, so that you all know that after the LORD ascended up into heaven after his resurrection the land of Palestine, he visited my fathers in the new world or the continent of America and did great and marvelous works that brought everlasting salvation to a great many of them.  And thus far, there is no other record in the world as the book of Mormon that we know in existence that testifies or bear witness of the resurrection and divinity of the Messiah.

Now, the book of Mormon, written by Israelite prophets of another branch of Jews plainly establishes the communication of God with these peoples both before and after his mortal ministry. It clearly establishes the truth of the entire span of the Bible as far as it is translated correctly from Genesis to the book of Revelation. These are three solid and undeniable witnesses that Jesus is the Christ or of the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Unfortunately, for the stumbling block of a great many among the nations of the gentiles, when the people tried to know things beyond the mark or what was established by the apostles, the great apostasy begun in full blown apparatus unto the creation of a great and abominable church, which is the church of the Devil and the whore of all the earth of which many branches sprang forth. It was the result of apostasy.

During that time, the so called saints, of either hemispheres or wherever they might be found, withdrew from the priesthood. They transgressed the law, changed the ordinances of salvation and broke the everlasting covenant. And when the last of the apostles was assassinated, the heaven withdrew, the earth was covered in dust and ashes or it languished.  The scriptures say that for a considerable period of time darkness would covered the people and gross darkness the minds of people. During the great apostasy, the devil had great power over all flesh. Ever since the creation of that great and abominable church which spread like wild fire all over the earth, including here in the land of my fathers in the western hemisphere, the heavens were shut as brass until the times of the restitution or the restoration of all things as spoken by the mouth of all the holy prophets since the world begun.  Here are some scriptures that attest to the advent of the great apostasy; and also about the prophesied time of the restoration of all things.

The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

(Old Testament | Isaiah 24:4 - 5)

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

(New Testament | Acts 3:19 - 21)

To have a profound and concise understanding of the Great apostasy, please, please, refer to the GREAT PROLOGUE, which are the faithful words of a modern apostle of Jesus Christ, Apostle Mark E. Peterson, who made a nearly two thousand year compendium or prologue of these thigns and who brought it to our remembrance to all of us, for we saw or learned about all these things, even before we were born. He candidly explains or makes u sremeber the apostasy and what happened in between all the way unto the times of the restitution of all things. His discourse and powerful testimony is matchless Jewel o ftruth and it is called:

THE GREAT PROLOGUE

But the worst was yet to come, for the knowledge and understanding gospel of Jesus Christ which was pure and precious was also taken away. Many plain and precious truths were perverted and taken away from all the anciet scriptures; and also many covenants of the LORD have been lost or they took away.  And many sacred books became apocrypha, which are nothing but perverted or interpolated writings of which are now beginning to spring forth out of the ground to tell the tale of their perversion. Thes Apocrypha records that are bein gunerthd, for the most part, they do not to ad unto truth or harmonize unto the Bible but, take away from it and  contradicts it. And these viscicitudes further confuse the world and chain it, if it were possible in everlasting darkness.

VERILY, thus saith the Lord unto you concerning the Apocrypha—There are many things contained therein that are true, and it is mostly translated correctly; There are many things contained therein that are not true, which are interpolations by the hands of men. Verily, I say unto you, that it is not needful that the Apocrypha should be translated. Therefore, whoso readeth it, let him understand, for the Spirit manifesteth truth; And whoso is enlightened by the Spirit shall obtain benefit therefrom; And whoso receiveth not by the Spirit, cannot be benefited.  Therefore it is not needful that it should be translated.  Amen.

(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 91:1 - 6)

Had it not been for the Book of Mormon which also sprang in all clarity and purity out of the earth but with the smile from heaven, we could not know that great truths are vastly missing from the scriptures. Here is what the LORD told the prophets concerning these aberrations some six centuries before the birth of Christ.

THE BIBLE

And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld that they did prosper in the land; and I beheld a book, and it was carried forth among them. And the angel said unto me: Knowest thou the meaning of the book?

And I said unto him: I know not.

And he said: Behold it proceedeth out of the mouth of a Jew. And I, Nephi, beheld it; and he said unto me: The book that thou beholdest is a record of the Jews, which contains the covenants of the Lord, which he hath made unto the house of Israel; and it also containeth many of the prophecies of the holy prophets; and it is a record like unto the engravings which are upon the plates of brass, save there are not so many; nevertheless, they contain the covenants of the Lord, which he hath made unto the house of Israel; wherefore, they are of great worth unto the Gentiles.

And the angel of the Lord said unto me:

Thou hast beheld that the book proceeded forth from the mouth of a Jew; and when it proceeded forth from the mouth of a Jew it contained the fulness of the gospel of the Lord, of whom the twelve apostles bear record; and they bear record according to the truth which is in the Lamb of God.

Wherefore, these things go forth from the Jews in purity unto the Gentiles, according to the truth which is in God.

And after they go forth by the hand of the twelve apostles of the Lamb, from the Jews unto the Gentiles, thou seest the formation of that great and abominable church, which is most abominable above all other churches; for behold, they have taken away from the gospel of the Lamb many parts which are plain and most precious; and also many covenants of the Lord have they taken away. And all this have they done that they might pervert the right ways of the Lord, that they might blind the eyes and harden the hearts of the children of men.

Wherefore, thou seest that after the book hath gone forth through the hands of the great and abominable church, that there are many plain and precious things taken away from the book, which is the book of the Lamb of God.

And after these plain and precious things were taken away it goeth forth unto all the nations of the Gentiles; and after it goeth forth unto all the nations of the Gentiles, yea, even across the many waters which thou hast seen with the Gentiles which have gone forth out of captivity, thou seest—because of the many plain and precious things which have been taken out of the book, which were plain unto the understanding of the children of men, according to the plainness which is in the Lamb of God—because of these things which are taken away out of the gospel of the Lamb, an exceedingly great many do stumble, yea, insomuch that Satan hath great power over them.

(Book of Mormon | 1 Nephi 13:20 - 29)

And for this reason, for it appear that that great and abominable church took away the meat from the hot dog, the beefo from the hamburger or the bacon from the breakfast; or the fatness thereof, which is the essence of the everlasting gospel; which was all of the above and below.  Either those pure and precious things were lost in translation or by willful interpolation, malignant tergiversation and/or carnal, sensual and devilish, omissions,

I am sent to write and declare it again in its fullness, perhaps I may persuade a soul or two to perceive the light and receive the truth wholeheartedly. Worship and revere GOD. I am just your fellow servant. I am not the truth, nor am I the light. I am just a travailed soul continually engaged in a good cause that bears witness of both the truth and the light and who will not be satisfied until Zion is established and Jerusalem is made the praise of the whole world.  This is my daily bread and butter and I am now giving it to you.

What is the light some may ask? Verily, verily I san unto you that it is a light that shines in darkness and darkness comprehends it not, this is a light that shines upon the whole world, upon every soul. A light that pierces darkness and who has become the disturber and annoyed of the kingdom of Lucifer.  And no one comes to the everlasting life or to the presence of the Father except thru the son. And no one comes to the son except thru the word of God as spoken by the Holy Ghost which the Father has sent to bear testimony of the Father and of the son and of the truth of all things.

And this is why Satan has for so long tried to pervert the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation. Jesus Christ said to me that in him alone, I shall have glory. The LOR Jesu Christ thru his chuch is saying unto the world. He has anointed me, and his spirit is upon me; to preach good tidings to the meek and to the broken hearted.   Therefore, I am sent of him and like unto him, or like Michael, which means like unto God, to preach liberty to the captives; and to manifest the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God in order to justify and comfort all that mourn. He sent me to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion their inheritances; and to dived among them the spoils from toil. I am here to give them beauty for ashes and joy for mourning; and also to dress them in the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.  This is so that they may be called the tress of righteousness, that the LORD in them may be everlastingly glorified.

Therefore, as faithful member of this church and in good standing, as far as I am able to know, I  testify that I am built upon the foundation of apsotles and prophets, being the LORD Jesus Christ, the chief corner stone. I therefore, desire this day to testify fromly of the glorified truth, or the truth as it will continue to be as much as the spirit which is in me gives me license, utterance and ability to write, just as John did when he started his ministry and recorded bearing witness of the light and the truth, saying:

In the beginning was the gospel preached through the Son. And the gospel was the word, and the word was with the Son, and the Son was with God, and the Son was of God.

(JST | John 1:1)

Despite all that has been written about Jesus Christ, and the testimonies of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him, that he lives. Here is my foundation speaking also.

And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!

(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 76:22)

I am here  also to testify by the power of the Holy Ghsot, that the great Jehovah is Jesus Christ or the Glorified deity that appeared to Joseph Smith the prophet wiht his Father; and as portrayed speaking to you today with his mighty word which is sharper than a two edged sword that cuts asunder bone and marrow.

Joseph smith, with whom I have communed from time to time, at least in my dreams, is not only a prohet, he is the great prophet of the restoration in the dispensation of the fullness of times. And if I could, I would testyfy grreater things about him but the spirit restrains me.  Yet, as a young boy, unlearned and confused like all of those around him, yough Jospeh pondered in humility that he needed knowledge or remain forever in darkness. Many preachers and pastors in his day as a great many others in the centuries before him, and after him, preached the great commission or the gospel with great animosity and alacrity, but forsook to practice it.  Whatever these individuals and churches were doing and are still doing regardless of good motives and intentions was and continues to be an abomination unto God. In any case, they were building their faith upon a shaky foundation or in broken covenant. And they lacked the royal priesthood which is the legal authority to speak in the name and in behalf of GOD.  Therefore, they honored the living God with their lips but their hears were far away from him. And they also taught the precepts of men as commandments, which precepts appeared to derive from good living and godliness, but when put into the test, their deeds and actions denied the power thereof.  So by applying the scriptures as if they were meant for him and him alone, young Joseph decided to make an experiment of faith, or he resolved to exercise some real faith in Jesus Christ, which was to believe and do or to follow the admonition James, or Jacobus, an original apsotle of Jesus Christ which in the footprints of time, he still says:

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.

(New Testament | James 1:5 - 6)

And when young Joseph retired to the nearby woods to pray to do just what James counseled, during which attempts, the adversary attacked him, not much different than when the devil attacked the body of Moses, he saw a bright column of light above him, which by his descriptions, is brighter than the sun at noon time. That light descended upon him, until the glory thereof covered him until he was free from the enemy that shotley before attacked him so his faith would not bear fruit. In the light, two personages appeared to joseph which were the Father and the Son. And one of them spoke unto Joseph and said unto him, this is my beloved son, hear him.

It was the intent o Joseph to ask God which church, sect or denomination was true or acceptable to and before God so he could join and seek after salvation. But it was told him that the church of Jesus Christ, was not found on earth whole, and that all their creeds were an abomination unto him. And he was also commanded to join none and that in a future time, the fullness of the Gospel would be revealed to him. And that is when the light broke forth among those that sit in darkness, giving official commencements to the dispensation of the fullness of times or the times of the restitution of all things. But regardless, they do not receive the light because they cannot perceive it until their darkness is pierced also and the gross darkness in their minds is dissipated.

The full testimony of Joseph Smith will be available shortly hereafter. But be it clear that the first thing that was resorted unto the perishing and languishing world was the individuality and the nature of GOD.  For God is not a an abstract BLOB or a self contradictory monster who is so large that he fills the entire and vast universe; and at the same time, he is so small that he can dwell in the heart of a person as the philosophies of men portray him in their old and false sectarian beliefs. Is not this blob type of belief an abomination? Just imagine  or picture in your minds GOD looking like that if it is that you can!!! For that is how all churcheds before and a great many after the restoration of the truth have and continue to portrayed the creators of heaven and earth. And it has been so, even since the days of the apostasy when Constantine became the emperor of the apostate Christian outfit.

But thank the Creators of heaven and earth, that the true knowledge of the nature of GOD has been revealed anew; and that that the Holy Trinity of GOD the Father, and the son, and the Holy Ghost is not a fused mutation, without sides, parts or potions. But that they are three individual and separate deities which are jointed as one in one in purpose, in one word, in  one action which is to collectively bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. For there is one GOD, one faith and one baptism. It is then only reasonable to believe that there can only be one true church. For God is a God of order and not a god of confusion. And we should all work our salvation with fear and trembling so we can become one with him and partake of eternal life and exaltation. We have also learn thru the first vision alone, that both the Father and the Son have tangible and glorified bodies of flesh and bones.  And that the Holy Ghost is a personage of Spirit to the image, likeness and similitud of GOD as we also are.

And last but not least, it was also restored during that first vision, and many knew it not, that GOD has parts, and sides, and he has passions. For when he visited the prophet Joseph smith, or during the first vision he had of him, he came with his son and pointed him with is right hand and arm, which are self evident body parts. And that is not all, The Father called him who was at his right side his beloved son, showing unto all that want to give heed that he is a kind and loving GOD. And that he hates also, for, despite his love for the sinner, he has great displeasure towards sin and abominations, which he cannot condone with the least degree of allowance. For he said that all those existing creeds and even up to this day, except his restored church are an abomination unto him.

And in life or in death, a great destruction and consumption has been decreed that will overtake and consume all those workers of iniquity that have perverted the right ways of the Lord and have made his path cooked. And knowing these calamities, aforetime, the LORD has prepared a beautiful and more excellent way for an escape for his children of the covenant; and his faithful followers.  And in sum, the way is freely available to all nations, kindred’s, tongues and peoples if it is that they want to escape. And that way is to come to return unto God from our wicked ways. Yes, to come to Zion from whence the gospel is being preached unto all nations unto the end of the earth. Come to the GOD of Jacob, he will teach you in his ways and get your blessings, first by believing in his restored gospel or by exercise faith in Jesus Christ, by repenting, by washing your sins thru the baptism of immersion and by receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying of hands by those who are in authority.   I bear solemn witness unto you, that this is the everlasting gospel. This is the door unto the kingdom heaven.  Only then, after the proof of your faith you can be given as Isaiah said, beauty for ashes; oil for joy for mourning, wedding garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that ye might be called trees of righteousness; even the planting of the LORD that he might be glorified.  For to this end the Messiah has been sent in the spirit of power and great deeds. Behold of him it is written and it has been fulfilled this day before you very own eyes the scriptures that says:

THE Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

(Old Testament | Isaiah 61:1 - 3)

And then, you shall rise up out of darkness and build up the waste places and repair the desolated cities for many generations. Then you will be named the priests of the LORD and men shall call you the ministers of our GOD and rejoice in the spoil of nations and by them all of them you shall be called the blessed seed of the LORD.

And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations. And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves. or your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them. For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.

(Old Testament | Isaiah 61:4 - 9)

Only then, when I see these things I will be happy and rejoice in the LORD; and I Will be happy and Glad in my GOD. And until then, I am more than willing to mourn, if I am permitted to see the fulfillment of this in my seed and in your seed. For this is the travail o my soul to this end I write incessantly. For the LORD has said that for Zion’s sake I will not hold my peace and for Jerusalem’s sake, I will not rest until righteousness go thereof go as brightness and until and the salvation thereof as a lap that burns. This is why I do not give him rest. You do not know it, and I cannot open my mouth about it, but I suffer in silence, because I am tormented day and night as a result of the sins that the LORD has placed upon me.  And I will not give my LORD rest until he comforts Zion and makes Jerusalem the praise of the earth for this is the resolve year after year in my heart. FOR the LORD will cause righteousness in Zion and praise in Jerusalem to spring forth before all nations. Of this it is written from the LORD has sworn it and it was made known by Isaiah saying:

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

(Old Testament | Isaiah 61:10 - 11)

FOR Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.

Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzi-bah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.

For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured: But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness.

Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people. Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

(Old Testament | Isaiah 62:1 - 12)

And as you have both heard and seen, the LORD is now speaking unto the ends of the earth as recorded in the Book of Doctrine and Covenants or the record of the gentiles, and by the mouth of all his holy apostles and prophets, who bear solemn witness of his name, of his divinity and of the restored truth, and of the eternal gospel of Jesus Christ, even up to this very day and hour. This you may have already digested if you read the Living Christ, the testimony of the apostles in the previous manuscript, blogs or discourses.

This is the great commission of which we have been commissioned, to testify of him, even Jesus Christ, that he lives. And to confirm your faith of that you which have heard and seen or known since the LORD was Crucified and resurrected. But it is not enough to know about GOD. It is essential that we actually know him if it is that we desire to have everlasting salvation. For it is better to know him than just to know about him.

And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives! For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father— That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God.

(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 76:22 - 24)

There is more from where this testimony comes from,
but I must pause for now, so that you can read it and digest it and the spirit has a chance to plant these things in the souls of those among you who are heir of salvation.

Please visit this site often so that you do not perish of thirst when the infernal night cleaves in. I testify that these things are true and they serve a purpose; and the wisdom thereof remains with the Lord. Enjoy the refreshments, even though it is overwhelming for your mind, ear and eyes, your spirit of GOD that is in you absorbs or catalyses the portion that it is intended for you. Of the truthfulness of these things I testify with a single eye, for the honor and Glory of GOD and I do it as one having authority in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen.

  1. TESTIMONY OF THE PROPHET JOSEPH SMITH

The Prophet Joseph Smith's own words about the coming forth of the Book of Mormon are:

"On the evening of the...twenty-first of September [1823]...I betook myself to prayer and supplication to Almighty God....

"While I was thus in the act of calling upon God, I discovered a light appearing in my room, which continued to increase until the room was lighter than at noonday, when immediately a personage appeared at my bedside, standing in the air, for his feet did not touch the floor. "He had on a loose robe of most exquisite whiteness. It was a whiteness beyond anything earthly I had ever seen; nor do I believe that any earthly thing could be made to appear so exceedingly white and brilliant. His hands were naked, and his arms also, a little above the wrists; so, also, were his feet naked, as were his legs, a little above the ankles. His head and neck were also bare. I could discover that he had no other clothing on but this robe, as it was open, so that I could see into his bosom. "Not only was his robe exceedingly white, but his whole person was glorious beyond description, and his countenance truly like lightning. The room was exceedingly light, but not so very bright as immediately around his person. When I first looked upon him, I was afraid; but the fear soon left me. "He called me by name, and said unto me that he was a messenger sent from the presence of God to me, and that his name was Moroni; that God had a work for me to do; and that my name should be had for good and evil among all nations, kindreds, and tongues, or that it should be both good and evil spoken of among all people.

"He said there was a book deposited, written upon gold plates, giving an account of the former inhabitants of this continent, and the source from whence they sprang. He also said that the fulness of the everlasting Gospel was contained in it, as delivered by the Savior to the ancient inhabitants; "Also, that there were two stones in silver bows—and these stones, fastened to a breastplate, constituted what is called the Urim and Thummim—deposited with the plates; and the possession and use of these stones were what constituted Seers in ancient or former times; and that God had prepared them for the purpose of translating the book.

"Again, he told me, that when I got those plates of which he had spoken—for the time that they should be obtained was not yet fulfilled—I should not show them to any person; neither the breastplate with the Urim and Thummim; only to those to whom I should be commanded to show them; if I did I should be destroyed. While he was conversing with me about the plates, the vision was opened to my mind that I could see the place where the plates were deposited, and that so clearly and distinctly that I knew the place again when I visited it.

"After this communication, I saw the light in the room begin to gather immediately around the person of him who had been speaking to me, and it continued to do so, until the room was again left dark, except just around him, when instantly I saw, as it were, a conduit open right up into heaven, and he ascended until he entirely disappeared, and the room was left as it had been before this heavenly light had made its appearance. "I lay musing on the singularity of the scene, and marveling greatly at what had been told to me by this extraordinary messenger; when, in the midst of my meditation, I suddenly discovered that my room was again beginning to get lighted, and in an instant, as it were, the same heavenly messenger was again by my bedside.

"He commenced, and again related the very same things which he had done at his first visit, without the least variation; which having done, he informed me of great judgments which were coming upon the earth, with great desolations by famine, sword, and pestilence; and that these grievous judgments would come on the earth in this generation. Having related these things, he again ascended as he had done before. "By this time, so deep were the impressions made on my mind, that sleep had fled from my eyes, and I lay overwhelmed in astonishment at what I had both seen and heard. But what was my surprise when again I beheld the same messenger at my bedside, and heard him rehearse or repeat over again to me the same things as before; and added a caution to me, telling me that Satan would try to tempt me (in consequence of the indigent circumstances of my father's family), to get the plates for the purpose of getting rich. This he forbade me, saying that I must have no other object in view in getting the plates but to glorify God, and must not be influenced by any other motive than that of building His kingdom; otherwise I could not get them.

"After this third visit, he again ascended into heaven as before, and I was again left to ponder on the strangeness of what I had just experienced; when almost immediately after the heavenly messenger had ascended from me the third time, the cock crowed, and I found that day was approaching, so that our interviews must have occupied the whole of that night.

  3. "I shortly after arose from my bed, and, as usual, went to the necessary labors of the day; but, in attempting to work as at other times, I found my strength so exhausted as to render me entirely unable.

My father, who was laboring along with me, discovered something to be wrong with me, and told me to go home. I started with the intention of going to the house; but, in attempting to cross the fence out of the field where we were, my strength entirely failed me, and I fell helpless on the ground, and for a time was quite unconscious of anything. "The first thing that I can recollect was a voice speaking unto me, calling me by name. I looked up, and beheld the same messenger standing over my head, surrounded by light as before. He then again related unto me all that he had related to me the previous night, and commanded me to go to my father and tell him of the vision and commandments which I had received. "I obeyed; I returned to my father in the field, and rehearsed the whole matter to him. He replied to me that it was of God, and told me to go and do as commanded by the messenger. I left the field, and went to the place where the messenger had told me the plates were deposited; and owing to the distinctness of the vision which I had had concerning it, I knew the place the instant that I arrived there.

"Convenient to the village of Manchester, Ontario county, New York, stands a hill of considerable size, and the most elevated of any in the neighborhood. On the west side of this hill, not far from the top, under a stone of considerable size, lay the plates, deposited in a stone box. This stone was thick and rounding in the middle on the upper side, and thinner towards the edges, so that the middle part of it was visible above the ground, but the edge all around was covered with earth. Having removed the earth, I obtained a lever, which I got fixed under the edge of the stone, and with a little exertion raised it up. I looked in, and there indeed did I behold the plates, the Urim and Thummim, and the breastplate, as stated by the messenger. The box in which they lay was formed by laying stones together in some kind of cement. In the bottom of the box were laid two stones crossways of the box, and on these stones lay the plates and the other things with them.

"I made an attempt to take them out, but was forbidden by the messenger, and was again informed that the time for bringing them forth had not yet arrived, neither would it, until four years from that time; but he told me that I should come to that place precisely in one year from that time, and that he would there meet with me, and that I should continue to do so until the time should come for obtaining the plates.

"Accordingly, as I had been commanded, I went at the end of each year, and at each time I found the same messenger there, and received instruction and intelligence from him at each of our interviews, respecting what the Lord was going to do, and how and in what manner His kingdom was to be conducted in the last days.

"At length the time arrived for obtaining the plates, the Urim and Thummim, and the breastplate. On the twenty-second day of September, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven, having gone as usual at the end of another year to the place where they were deposited, the same heavenly messenger delivered them up to me with this charge: That I should be responsible for them; that if I should let them go carelessly, or through any neglect of mine, I should be cut off; but that if I would use all my endeavors to preserve them, until he, the messenger, should call for them, they should be protected.

"I soon found out the reason why I had received such strict charges to keep them safe, and why it was that the messenger had said that when I had done what was required at my hand, he would call for them. For no sooner was it known that I had them, than the most strenuous exertions were used to get them from me. Every stratagem that could be invented was resorted to for that purpose. The persecution became more bitter and severe than before, and multitudes were on the alert continually to get them from me if possible. But by the wisdom of God, they remained safe in my hands, until I had accomplished by them what was required at my hand. When, according to arrangements, the messenger called for them, I delivered them up to him; and he has them in his charge until this day, being the second day of May, one thousand eight hundred and thirty-eight."
